ECTFE, otherwise known as Halar®, one of its trade names, is a copolymer of ethylene and mono-trifluoroethylene.

This thermoplastic combines the following properties:

  • Exceptionally resistant to chemical exposure
  • Excellent electrical properties (low dielectric value that doesn’t vary by temperature or frequency, excellent dielectric strength)
  • Resistance to high and low temperatures (-70°C to +150°C)
  • Mechanical properties comparable to Nylon 6, excellent impact and abrasion resistance, robust coating
  • Hardness approx. D75
  • Flame resistance
  • Radiation resistance
